Elevated errors on Simple Mail Service

We have identified the root cause of the incident. APIv1 experienced a service disruption due to a defective software update that was deployed to production. The update contained a critical bug that caused the API to enter a malfunctioning state, resulting in service degradation.

We are reviewing our testing pipeline and regression tests while at the same time improving monitoring.

The issue was remediated at 13.22PM.
